Dana and I have been friends since we were 9 years old. What makes our friendship special is that from 2008 we've been there to help each other creatively, it was also the year she started her business.
This shoot in particular has its own story to tell behind the scenes. Neither of us wanted to be there, it was winter in Chicago and we were both tired from working long hours. Because of the respect we have for each other and our time, neither of us wanted to cancel.
Walking over to the studio I shifted my perspective and reminded myself to focus on Dana. Once we got to it everything started to click and each shot was better than the next. I could start to see the vision for a story unfold, it was a vision that neither I nor Dana had anticipated going into the shoot.
We spent two hours in studio and I am proud to say that there is no PhotoShop here. Sometimes, being true to your friendship, being honest and working with someone who goes with the flow really works. This shoot is proof.
